Researcher

Dr. Nicolas Koch is a research fellow in the working group Sustainable Resource Management and Global Change. He is an economist working at the intersection of environmental economics and applied econometrics. Beyond European climate and energy policy (and emissions trading, in particular), he is also interested in transportation economics, tropical forest conservation policies and the integration of methods and models from finance into environmental economics analysis.

He completed his PhD at the University of Hamburg. Previously he studied economics in Marburg, Kiel, Hamburg and Paris. He has been a visiting scholar at the Environmental and Energy Finance Group of the University of East Anglia, and a visiting lecturer at BEM Bordeaux Management School.
