Dr. Shantanu Chakraborty

Shantanu Chakraborty is a Research Fellow at the Energy Transition Hub in the University of Melbourne. His research interests revolve around various technical and economic aspects of smart grid development, including (but not limited to) demand response, P2P energy and flexibility exchange, robust scheduling and control of distributed resources, and unit commitment by leveraging the power of optimization techniques, multiagent systems, machine learning, and AI.

Shantanu has previously worked and took key roles in several projects as a research scientist at Siemens, CWI Amsterdam, NEC Corporation, the University of Tokyo, Nagoya Institute of Technology, and the University of the Ryukyus.

He is a Senior Member at Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and an active contributor in IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES).
